The Gift Of EON & The Path Of Hope It Provides

Many of us worry about where the world is headed. We fear for what our children and future generations will face; disconnected from nature, destroying our planet, and divided as a species—our hope for the future is fading. For decades, experts from many different branches of science have tried to solve these problems, yet humankind continues down a devastating path.

Calvin Ray, an elderly farmer, shared these fears until he received an astonishing visit from his future granddaughter, Edyn Ray, who brought with her a gift for humanity: EON (Ecology of Needs), the language of nature in graphical form. Following Edyn Ray’s arrival, Calvin researched various branches of science and found a commonality within them: nature’s universal language, a communication code with a stem of understanding where the branches of science all connect. They pointed to Edyn Ray’s gift; an innate knowing inside us all.

Seeing the possibilities for humankind, Calvin applied the EON framework in his real-life roles as executive coach, strategist, and farmer. In doing so, he recognized that EON was an intuitive navigational framework applicable to everything, and a universal signaling system capable of steering sustainable paths, both now and for generations.

This book is the story of that journey. What feels like a fable at the start stretches into the real and profound possibility of transforming human understanding of life. EON lights the path to a brighter future for humankind and for our planet.

ECOLOGY OF NEEDS

EON is presented in the book as a hyper-hypothesis that the farmer hides in a cookie jar, fearful of the possibilities it poses and what he might be called on to do. What the hypothesis points to, is the idea that nature’s fundamental forces form a communication system of signals that guide the interconnection of all living things at every scale—a universal language of life, so to speak.

The system has a linguistic structure similar to human and computer languages, with EON being a visual representation of the language. The graphics of its grammar is an integration of scientific concepts with the potential to transform human understanding of life and ensure that life’s needs are met across all ecosystems on earth, now and in the future.

Humanity faces planet-size challenges, and urgent planet-size collaboration is called for. Even in embryonic form, EON offers what science currently cannot: a new lens to see sustainability through, including its principles, indictors of performance, and the structures and processes required to attain it. One could consider EON the stem cell of sustainability; applicable to everything, and understandable by everyone.
